Digital Polarimeter – Model: CDP-001 The Digital Polarimeter (Model: CDP-001) is a fully automatic laboratory instrument designed to measure the optical rotation of optically active substances with high precision and accuracy. The CONTECH Digital Polarimeter operates on the Optical Null Principle, eliminating the need for manual adjustments and ensuring highly accurate, repeatable, and reliable measurement results. When polarized light passes through a sample, the analyzer detects the optical rotation produced by the sample. A highly sensitive photomultiplier detector converts this optical rotation into an electrical signal, which is processed through selective frequency circuits and a power amplifier. The servo motor automatically adjusts the analyzer until the optical zero position is restored. The analyzer's rotation is measured using an encoder and displayed digitally as the optical rotation of the sample. The Digital Polarimeter is capable of measuring dark-colored samples with up to 1% transmittance by automatically adjusting the detector's high-voltage supply according to the sample's darkness. The instrument also provides multiple readings with automatic calculation of average values and standard deviation, ensuring consistent and reliable analysis. It features a large backlit LCD display, RS-232 interface for computer connectivity, and supports both 100 mm and 200 mm sample tubes. Optional software is available for computer-based data management and analysis.
